This should increase the speed of the computer during startup.

NOTE: DEPENDS ON THE SYSTEM YOU MAY HAVE TO RESTART THE COMPUTER A COUPLE OF TIMES TO ADJUST TO YOUR LIKINGS AND PROGRAMS INSTALLED.

This will stop some programs running in startup.

1. Click on Start

2. Select Run

A new window will pop up.

3. type in "MSCONFIG" (without the quotations).

4. Click OK.

A new window will pop up.

5. Select the Startup Tab at the top of the new window.

You will see a list of programs in the startup.

6. Unselect a program on the list you do not want to turn on at Startup.

NOTE: You can select more than one at a time. I don't reccommend unselecting any Norton's or Symantic Programs.

7. Click OK.

A new window will pop up.

8. Click Restart

When the computer restarts another window will pop up

9. Put a check in the box

10. Click OK.


Repeat these steps as needed

If you made a mistake when you unselect one

Do these steps again and select the program.
